"One of the most gracious and also distinctive wines lovers will find in Montagne-Saint-Emilion. Sweet tobacco, dried cherry, mint and herbs add lovely shades of nuance." –Antonio Galloni 2018
Clos Bertineau is a 38 acres plot located in Montagne Saint Emilion appellation. In 2005, Philippe Nunes acquired this small plot of Montagne Saint Emilion, allowing him to make his dream reality: "producing his own wine".
The wine is aging 12 months in French oak tanks (33% of new oaks) with the annual production at 1800 bottles. Philippe Nunes grew up in the Bordeaux vineyards and graduated as oenologist from the famous University of Bordeaux in 1997. After several experiences on the right and left bank, he is, since 1998, the technical director of Hubert de Bouard's famous Lalande de Pomerol vineyard: the Fleur de Boüard. Since 2000, Philippe Nunes is also a member of Hubert de Bouard consultant team and partner since 2007.
