McLaren Vale, Australia

Aromas of chocolate pudding, blackberry pie, mocha spice and vanilla oak. On the palate: savoury spice, mocha and plummy sweetness through the palate. Full flavoured, the tannins are silky and integrated, with sage and black currant characters, framing this more restrained vintage of McLaren Vale Shiraz.

2017 was a year where they had some magnificent rains during spring, so the soil profiles were full to the brim comebudburst. This meant they had a bumper crop year, with a long slow ripening period. A great follow up to the Halliday 95pointed 2016 vintage.
